Development with Frappe Framework

Approved
Session Description

Frappe is a low-code / no-code, batteries-included full-stack web development framework that helps you build complete web applications very quickly.

Unlike traditional frameworks where you have to set up authentication, database models, admin panels, and APIs separately, Frappe gives you all of this out of the box and much more.

In this workshop, participants will get a quick and practical introduction to the Frappe Framework and how it enables rapid application development.

We will build a simple Event Management App that participants can easily relate to and even use for organising events.

Starting from a fresh Frappe instance, we will create the core components of the app step by step including:

  1. Event creation

  2. Participant registration, and

  3. Basic status tracking.

Key Takeaways
  • Creating and managing DocTypes

  • Understanding meta-data driven development

  • Using Frappe’s no-code UI to build applications quickly

  • Linking data and managing simple workflows
