SciPy India is one of India's longest-running community conferences dedicated to scientific computing using free and open source software. The 2026 conference will be its fourteenth edition and will take place on 19th–20th December 2026 at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras in Chennai, India, with the first day fully featuring hands-on workshops, followed by the main conference programme on the second day. Scientific FOSS is critical infrastructure among engineering, education, and research across academia and industry, yet India has relatively few dedicated spaces where maintainers of scientific software, researchers, research software engineers, educators, faculty, students, and industry practitioners can interact and collaborate face-to-face. SciPy India exists as a community of practice to provide that space and to strengthen the Indian contributor and maintainer community around scientific software, as a means of empowering scientific community infrastructure in India. After thirteen successful editions from 2009–2021, the conference went on hiatus. We, as a new volunteer team, began rebuilding the SciPy India community in 2025 (more details in the upcoming sections). The SciPy India 2026 Conference is therefore the first edition since that revival and is intended to re-establish a sustainable, recurring home for India's scientific FOSS community. Lastly, the SciPy India conferences are part of a family that includes SciPy US, EuroSciPy, SciPyData Japan, SciPy Latam, and PyData events and conferences worldwide.
CogniCraft 2026 is a four week event with two-day residential TechX innovation experience hosted at Rajagiri School of Engineering and Technology (RSET), Kochi. Dedicated exclusively to designing cognitive assistive technologies for neurodivergent individuals, CogniCraft bridges engineering design, software development, clinical rehabilitation, and human-centered problem solving. Moving beyond traditional hackathon models, CogniCraft integrates expert keynotes, hands-on rapid prototyping, 3D printing workshops, panel discussions, and community-building campfire sessions on the RSET campus before participants embark on a signature Buildathon aboard the Kochi Water Metro. This event acts as the official launch platform for the CogniCraft Innovation Initiative under the IEEE Kerala ATII Group, establishing a sustainable roadmap to transition student concepts into locally manufacturable, low-cost assistive products supported by K-DISC STRIDE.
* We are planning to host the first ever, vendor neutral, tool/technology agnostic conference, dedicated to open source tools and engineering practice. * We are anticipating a footfall of roughly 600 folks, predominantly working professionals and CXOs from the region. * We are attempting to bring all/most of the kube astronaut/Golden kube astronauts together. * We have already received more than 60 talk proposals from companies like AWS, Intuit, Red Hat and also from startups like Drdroid, One2N. To our surprise we have received proposals from students from IITs, GSOC projects. * We have a proven track record in doing conferences and community organizations and have done conferences like CloudXAI, Global Azure Conference (Kolkata), GDG Cloud etc.
Linux Diary 7.0 is an exciting event organized by the Walchand Linux Users' Group (WLUG) where we cover topics ranging from Basic to Advanced Linux and Networking. It is one of the most anticipated technology events at Walchand College of Engineering, Sangli, Linux Diary 7 .0 has consistently drawn a large audience, including students, faculty, and tech enthusiasts.
Youth IGF India is a UN Internet Governance Forum (IGF) recognized youth initiative building India's next generation of Internet governance leaders since 2018. The 9th Annual Forum will be held on September 4, 2026, at IIT Bombay with support from InSIG 2026, in hybrid format with on-site and online participation. Co-hosted by the Ashank Desai Centre for Policy Studies and supported by inSIG 2026, the day features interactive sessions on Internet governance fundamentals, expert panels on AI governance and cybersecurity, a multistakeholder consultation session on AI x cybersecurity, and lightning talks. Through its fellowship program, Youth IGF India 2026 brought in 22 selected fellows, equipping them to engage in national and global Internet governance processes. The Forum is expected to draw 200 on-site participants including Youth IGF India fellows, students, policymakers, technologists, and civil society leaders. Outcomes are consolidated into a report submitted to the UN IGF.
OSDHack’26 is a 5 day nationwide annual hackathon hosted by the Open Source Developers Community (OSDC). Previous iterations of OSDHack have seen around 500+ participants yearly. BarCamp Bangalore is an open, volunteer-led, participant-driven unconference where attendees propose and run sessions themselves. The Audio Developer Conference (ADC) is a not-for-profit event and is dedicated to providing education and essential resources to audio developers around the world. The mission is to bring the audio developer community together, and promote diversity and accessibility. ADCx India 26 is a one-day version of ADC scheduled for 29th March 2026 at the Bangalore International Centre (BIC) and includes talks, networking sessions & keynotes that cover topics including audio development technologies, music applications, game audio, audio processing, embedded systems. 3D and VR/AR audio, DSP, machine learning and more. The talks of the event are live-streamed to YouTube and are made available to everyone for free in line with the vision to improve accessibility to information.
