Welcome to OSDHack 2025, the annual hackathon by the Open Source Developers’ Community (OSDC) - the chaotic good corner of campus where caffeine meets creativity and Git commits meet merge conflicts.

This year’s theme:

🦖 Blast from the Past

“Bring Back the Classics - With a Modern Twist.”

We’re turning nostalgia into innovation. Take your favourite piece of the past — that ancient game, discontinued platform, or discontinued hope — and revive it for the modern world. Think retro vibes, new-age code.

🧩 What You Can Build

• Flash Games 2.0: Flash is dead, but your code isn’t. Recreate your favorite childhood game in React, WebAssembly, or whatever the kids are using these days.

• AI Tamagotchi: Feed it, love it, and hope it doesn’t ask for GPU credits.

• Pixel Artify: Bring back the 8‑bit feels, but with CSS grids and too much commitment.

• Rebuild a Lost Tool: Re‑invent Vine, Winamp, or Orkut — just don’t rebuild MS Clippy, please.

• The New Club Penguin: Make an open‑source hangout where avatars socialize, share memes, and probably argue over tabs vs spaces.

If it screams nostalgia + modern magic, you’re golden. ✨

🎮 Mini Events

• 🐒 Monkey Typing: A TypeRacer‑style chaos contest. Fast fingers win; typos get publicly judged.

• 🚩 Capture The Flag (CTF): Crack codes, chase flags, and flex your security skills like the hacker movie montages promised.

🧰 The Rules (aka No Chaos Without Order)

• Build anything open‑source.

• Use Git like you mean it - version control is your friend, not your “final_final_v2” folder.

• Host your baby on a public GitHub repo. Transparency is hot.

Because nostalgia slaps. Because debugging with friends at 3 AM builds character. Because there’s something poetic about breathing new life into old code.
