Commit 1.0, a college-level hackathon organized by FOSS Tech MPSTME, aimed at fostering innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence among engineering students. Held from 6th to 13th September 2025, the event featured three diverse tracks—Cybersecurity, Sustainability, and FinTech—allowing participants to address real-world challenges using Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) principles. The hackathon followed a structured format with online quizzes, idea submissions, and an offline build-and-pitch round at MPSTME, Vile Parle. With over 150 participants from various colleges, the event encouraged interdisciplinary teamwork and creativity. Supported by mentors and industry professionals, Commit 1.0 successfully blended competition with learning, rewarding the most innovative solutions while promoting the open-source ethos that FOSS Tech stands for.
