Git Skyline 3D

View, 3d-print or order a 3D skyline representing your git contributions in a year

Description

Skyline3d shows a 3D-visualization of your contributions on GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket.

You can select any 1-year period for generating the skyline. You can view it on the website, embed it on your own website, download & 3D-print the skyline yourself or order it from the website and get it shipped to your home. It makes the perfect present for your software developer friends as well as a great memento for yourself to feel proud of your work at the end of the year.

Features:

  1. Display the skyline (a 3D visualization of the user's contributions) with attractive lighting (sunlight, indoor lights, luminescence etc.)

  2. Lets you embed the skyline in any color your want on your website

  3. Download the STL or GLTF file to print the skyline yourself.

  4. Order a 3D print of your skyline and it will be shipped directly to your home.

  5. Works for GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket - and for both, cloud as well as self-hosted versions.

Why?

Software engineers are very proud of their work. A memento that reminds them of their contributions always delights them.

This is a perfect gift for:

Progress

During the FOSS Hack, I completed the implementation of the shipping feature.

  • Created an AppScript that is called by the "Ship 3D Print" form which updates a spreadsheet that records all the orders

  • Added the feature to add a custom message on the base of the skyline model (which can be used to personalise it as a gift).

  • Add number of contributions to the base of the 3d model.

  • Changed the license of the repository from MIT to AGPLv3.
