Water scarcity is a serious problem today, but practical advice on saving water is often hard to find, scattered across many sources, or presented in overly technical language. JalWiKi aims to fix that by bringing all water-saving tips and methods into one easy-to-use digital hub.

JalWiKi is a wiki-style platform where anyone-from local community members to water management experts-can write about and discuss simple, effective ways to conserve water. The platform features clear articles on water-efficient techniques and conservation methods, as well as interactive water maps that show where water resources are abundant or scarce. This helps users see what methods work best in their local area.

Key Elements of JalWiKi:

• Knowledge Sharing: A collection of reliable, practical water-saving tips and best practices contributed by experts, government bodies, NGOs, and everyday people.

• Interactive Tools: Helpful chat assistants and water analysis tools that show water availability and conservation opportunities through visual maps.

• Community Engagement: Forums where users can exchange ideas, share their personal stories, and discuss challenges and successes in water conservation.

• Integration with Government & NGOs: A dedicated section that connects users with government programs and NGO initiatives supporting water conservation.

• Social Media & Multi-Language Support: Easy ways to share information on platforms like WhatsApp, Facebook, and Twitter, and plans to support multiple languages so that people from different regions can benefit.

Motivation:

I joined FOSS Hack 2025 because I believe that practical solutions to water scarcity should be accessible to everyone. JalWiKi was created to offer a simple, user-friendly space where actionable water conservation knowledge is shared and improved. By connecting communities with the right resources and experts, we hope to make a real difference in the way water is managed and conserved.

By combining these modules into one cohesive platform, JalWiKi strives to educate, inspire, and mobilize communities to take practical steps toward water conservation. It’s about turning small, everyday actions into a collective force for change.
