NeuroGarud

strong scalable and cybersecurity for your brain-not about blocking but re-envisioning social media

Description

NeuroGaurd

open-source cognitive content filtering for healthier digital consumption

overview:

A browser extension and analysis engine designed to evaluate and filter online video content — starting with YouTube — based on cognitive quality rather than just explicit content.

Unlike traditional parental control tools that block inappropriate material, NeuroGuard focuses on identifying overstimulating, low-engagement, and algorithm-driven “dopamine-loop” content often associated with reduced attention span in children.

NeuroGuard does not aim to censor the internet.
It aims to make digital consumption healthier and more intentional.

Problem Statement

Current tools such as YouTube Kids and other parental control applications primarily filter:

  • Explicit content

  • Age-inappropriate material

  • Restricted keywords

However, they often fail to address:

  • Hyper-edited short-form content

  • Rapid scene-switching videos

  • Excessive visual stimulation

  • Algorithm-driven addictive loops

  • Low cognitive engagement patterns

Children are increasingly exposed to content that is not harmful in content, but harmful in cognitive impact.

NeuroGuard addresses this gap.

Core Philosophy

NeuroGuard evaluates content using a Cognitive Quality Framework instead of binary “safe/unsafe” filtering.

It analyzes:

  • Engagement depth

  • Information density

  • Speech pacing

  • Visual intensity patterns

  • Repetition frequency

  • Short-form bias

The goal is not restriction.
The goal is awareness and intelligent filtering.
