ORBIT – Project Description

ORBIT is an open-source Chrome extension that transforms YouTube into a distraction-free and productivity-focused learning environment.

Focus & Distraction Removal

It removes attention-grabbing elements such as comments and recommended videos, helping users stay fully focused on meaningful content.

Productivity Features

ORBIT also introduces powerful productivity tools including:

• Real-time note-taking

• Built-in focus timer

• Dark mode interface for a more comfortable viewing experience

Users can also capture video snapshots and export them as PDFs, making content revision simple and efficient.

Video Analyzer

Additionally, ORBIT features a video analyzer that processes video comments and provides sentiment insights by classifying them into:

• Positive

• Negative

• Neutral

This helps users quickly understand audience perception.

We implemented this feature using the DistilBERT model trained on over 150k comments.

Privacy First

Unlike existing productivity extensions, ORBIT is completely client-side and API-free, ensuring:

• ✅ Zero data collection
