Who is OASIS?

We’re an open-source alliance helping social organisations break free from spreadsheet chaos, overpriced software, and tools that were never built for them in the first place. We advocate for Free & Open Source Software (FOSS), build capacity around it, and connect nonprofits with technologists who actually get the sector.

From fellowship systems that cut admin work in half, to tech audits that save NGOs years of bad decisions, to workshops, hackathons, and summits that make open source feel human, we help nonprofits take back control of their tech.

We don’t sell software. We build understanding, governance, and confidence around tech that lasts.

The Opportunity

Imagine waking up knowing that something you wrote helped a nonprofit stop paying for a tool they hate. Or that a Reel you edited nudged a student to build their first open-source project for social good. Or that a blog you shipped helped a funder rethink how they invest in tech. This isn’t “content for content’s sake.”

This is storyfuel for the social sector.

You’ll craft: - Blogs that help NGOs make smarter tech choices - Newsletters that demystify open source without the jargon - Videos that turn “tech policy” into something people actually watch - Social content that sparks builders, funders, and nonprofits into the same conversation

One week, you’re breaking down why vendor lock-in hurts NGOs. Next week, you’re filming a founder explaining how open-source changed their operations. Another week, you’re scripting a Reel that makes FOSS finally click.

What You’ll Actually Build

Writing that moves Blogs, explainers, case studies, newsletters

Videos that stick - Short-form explainers (tools, concepts, myths) - Event recaps, founder stories, community voices - Shot scrappy, edited smart, impact over polish

Social that builds community - LinkedIn: open-source advocacy, impact stories, event outreach - Instagram: Reels that simplify tech for NGOs,open-source advocacy, impact stories, event outreach - YouTube: explainers, demos, conversations - WhatsApp: Event updates and sharing posts

Content that keeps a growing impact-tech community engaged, curious, and coming back.
