I'm Akulapalli Jayaram, a first-year B.Tech Artificial Intelligence student at Sai University, Chennai (GPA: 9.0). I grew up for nearly eight years in a TGTWREIS Gurukulam — a government tribal welfare residential school in Nalgonda, Telangana. That experience is the foundation of everything I build.

I am the founder of Project SETU (Smart Escalation & Tracking Utility) — an AI-powered grievance and communication system for Gurukulam schools that ensures welfare issues reported by school staff actually reach the right officials, are tracked in real time, and cannot be lost or ignored. SETU is currently in stakeholder research phase, targeting a pilot across 3–6 schools with projected impact on 6,000+ students. It has been selected for Round 2 of the UN Millennium Fellowship 2026.

Beyond SETU, I won 1st place at FOSS Hack at Sai University, interned at T-Works Foundation (Govt. of Telangana) as a UAV Intern at 16, and independently built a functional VTOL aircraft in Class X. I served as Literacy Captain at my Gurukulam for three consecutive years and founded a Student Innovation Club to bring STEM awareness to peers who had never encountered it.

I believe technology is most powerful when it is built by people who have lived the problem — not just studied it.
